This Mormon Life is dedicated to helping you find more joy in the journey. Our Mormon Podcast is specifically meant to help you be a better teacher of the Gospel. We also have interviews and commentaries to help round things out.

We’ve all been there.  Opening Exercises in priesthood has ended, all the old guys and youth depart to class, and it’s time for Elder’s Quorum.  The Presidency bounces around trying to abdicate who is actually teaching that day and the least persuasive guy gets stuck with the lesson.  He proceeds to kill time as someone goes to get copies of the Manual. Then he invites someone to read a paragraph and follows up with, “Does anyone have any thoughts on that?”  Being met with crickets, calls on another reader.  Then you rinse and repeat for 20 minutes.

While Elder’s Quorum typically get’s the worst reputation when it comes to teaching, all areas have room to grow. When the Come, Follow Me style of teaching rolled out, it was a time for teachers of Sunday School and Young Women & Men to rise to the occasion. They had to really up their game.

With the addition Come, Follow Me being added to the adult curriculum, we are going to see a new wave of teacher improvement. We are here to help you with that teacher improvement!

This Mormon Life discusses lesson formats, like First Sunday Councils, teaching from the scriptures, or teaching from a General Conference Talk. We will also take some time to dig into the unique characteristics of the class type you teach. We have a pool of experts in teaching Primary kids, Young Women, Young Men, Elder’s Quorum, Relief Society, and even High Priests!

There are a lot of special circumstances and skills we hope to address as well. We want to help you teach those with special needs, tell better stories, use humor, and invite the Spirit. Teaching in the home is also an area that we want to help you be a better teacher.

Between episodes we have a special Facebook Group for listeners. Former podcast guests are in there and super excited to help you with any questions you have. You can can ask questions specific to your situation and need or just weigh in on the comments of others.
