I’m not gonna lie; I cried a little bit at my desk at work today. Some of those tears were tears of sadness for the thought that I would never hear from Elder Richard G. Scott again at General Conference. Most of those tears were of joy. With the passing of Elder Scott, it means that he is again reunited with his beloved Jeanene.
5 Times Elder Richard G. Scott Made Us Love Him, Because He Loved His Wife Jeanene- Wedding
All I really know about their relationship is what I have learned from hearing him speak of her at General Conference. She must have been an elect lady to garner such love and devotion. Hearing Elder Scott speak of his wife, that had passed 20 years ago, gives us hope for the blessings of the Temple and confidence that he knew it was true.
Here are five of the times Elder Richard G. Scott made me love him, because of the love he had for his wife Jeanene.

The Talk: The Eternal Blessings of Marriage
Why We Love It: Elder Scott tells cute stories about the little things they did to tell each other they loved each other. Then pays her an honorable tribute as a daughter of Father in Heaven who with grace and devotion lived the full feminine splendor of her righteous womanhood.
As just a parting thought, I remember an update my friend Parker Jacobs posted to Facebook after this talk was given, “I shook the hands of Richard G. Scott in 1995. I looked into his penetrating eyes (and…ears) and marveled at the experience of meeting such a powerful man of God. My friend Nathan Tanner, who shook his hands as well, had a different insight. He said, “I just saw a man that deeply missed his wife”.

While we will miss Elder Scott so much, we should be rejoicing that after 20 years of separation, he is reunited with his sweetheart for time and all eternity!
